Christopher Ivor Adam is a Paisley-born artist who now lives and works in Dundee, making prints, paintings, drawing, films, songs and stories. His art has recently tackled themes of history, identity, language and belonging. He uses Gaelic and Scots in his work, as well as English, and has begun composing four-part harmony songs in the North American tradition of the Sacred Harp, or ‘shape note’ singing, in earnest since graduating from DJCAD in 2025.
Christopher’s pictures are created entirely from imagination. He works instinctively to make marks across a range of media, especially in oil paint and through waterless lithograph printing, creating characters and personalities which express greater ideas about rural Scottish life, and more besides.
