Nicola wiltshire
Nicola Wiltshire makes paintings and drawings using a language of bold lines, intense colour and an abstraction of form into playful and calming shapes. Images inspired by walks and domestic interiors are first drawn in charcoal or ink, then built up with layers of high-pigment oil paint or pastels. The work is the result of an enchantment with colour, texture, materials and pattern, plus a curiosity with the simple beauty of everyday life. Nicola's paintings have been exhibited throughout the UK, with her most recent solo exhibition at Paul Smith London (2022), plus many group exhibitions including Royal Scottish Academy. Her paintings and drawings are held in private and public collections worldwide, including UK, France, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Serbia and USA. Nicola graduated with a BA in Fine Art (University Of Westminster, 2009) and MFA with distinction in Art And Humanities (DJCAD, 2014). She is currently based in Dundee, Scotland.
